Carbon Hero – LegalVision

Previous Next

Today we’re celebrating LegalVision, a commercial law firm committed to innovation and the environment! They have donated 1000 trees to help give our planet a happy New Year, offsetting 160 tonnes of carbon – the equivalent of taking 30 cars off the road for a year!

LegalVision caters to a full range of commercial law needs, with a team of specialist lawyers who bring extensive experience from leading law firms in Australia and across the world. They are committed to educating Australians on legal issues, offering over 3,500 free legal articles to help keep businesses informed about the law.

We had a chat with the team at LegalVision to find out more about their inspirations and their commitment to helping restore our planet for future generations.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and the inspirations behind your brand?

LegalVision’s mission is to transform legal services. LegalVision was founded to improve access to legal services, disrupt the traditional law firm model and promote a culture of technological and legal innovation in Australia. LegalVision has assisted more than 50,000 SMEs in Australia, and won New Law Firm of the Year at the 2017 Australian Law Awards.

Why is caring for the environment important to you?

As a firm the operates primarily online, LegalVision has always been invested in building an environmentally sustainable business. Traditionally, law firms have been wasteful with printing, energy and resources. We believe we can always do better in our environmental initiatives.

What motivates you to support CNCF’s work in particular?

LegalVision researched a number of different non-profits before deciding on CNCF. We decided to support CNCF because the organisation is active in a number of positive environmental initiatives – by planting native trees, CNCF is reducing the carbon footprint whilst educating the community about climate change and restoration.

Are there any other green initiatives that your organisation is working on?

Just this year, LegalVision has provided its entire team with KeepCups for their daily coffees to remove the use of disposable cups. In addition, we have eliminated a lot of food waste as our in-house chef runs a compost system and uses ethically sourced ingredients to make team meals. We are also building more bike racks to encourage team members to cycle to work.

Do you have any environmental goals that you would like to achieve?

LegalVision would like to continue reducing its carbon footprint, helping Australia restore its landscape and revive biodiversity. We hope to eventually be a paperless and plastic bag free office!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our supporters?

LegalVision is committed to reducing its carbon footprint – we are always looking for new ways to work that are sustainable and ethical.
